AusAgritech has today announced the Findex AusAgritech National Ecosystem Survey, which has also been sponsored by the Australian Trade & Investment Commission (Austrade) and Agriculture Victoria.
The juggernaut project, which is the first of its kind and scope in the agritech sector, aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the impact of the sector on the Australian economy, job creation, skills, the startup landscape and more, in order to better understand and recognise the valuable contribution of agritech to the nation.
Findex, who are one of Australasia’s leading providers of integrated financial advisory and accounting services have joined as name partners of the Survey, demonstrating their commitment to agribusiness, technology and their combined potential in rural and regional as well as metropolitan Australia.
Chris Carey, Chief Growth Officer for Findex, said that their partnership with the Survey reinforces their ongoing commitment to advancing agriculture and agritech in Australia, and providing the nation with a more comprehensive understanding of the scope and potential of what the agritech sector can achieve for agriculture reaching its $100Bn target by 2030.
“We are excited to partner with AusAgritech for the inaugural Findex AusAgritech National Ecosystem Survey. With more than 20,0000 clients in the Agricultural sector and a long history of supporting innovation in the tech and start-up sectors through our AgTech accelerator, SproutX, Findex is looking forward to connecting our clients with insights and data that will help grow the sector.”
Sarah-Jane McCormack, Executive Director, Agriculture Policy and Programs for Agriculture Victoria, who have also joined as sponsors of the Survey, said that better understanding the agritech ecosystem was particularly important in light of the state’s ambitions.
“Our partnership with the Australian Agritech Association and access to important Victorian and national sectoral information will help enhance the competitiveness and productivity of the Victorian AgTech sector, which is a key area of focus for Agriculture Victoria.”
Austrade’s Head, Agribusiness and Food Centre of Excellence, Anne-Maree Weston echoed this sentiment, saying that Austrade’s involvement in the project reflects the significance of the sector in Australia’s trade and investment opportunities.
“Austrade is excited to support AusAgritech’s Ecosystem Analysis Survey and Report. Understanding the true depth and breadth of Australian agrifood tech capability will allow us to provide more targeted trade and investment support through our highly skilled global network of agrifood specialists; and allow us to play our part in the continued growth and success of the sector and the agricultural sector more broadly, in Australia.”
Tracey Martin, CEO of AusAgritech, said that the project’s national significance could not go unnoticed.
“We believe that the backing of such reputable partners such as Findex, Agriculture Victoria and Austrade demonstrates not only the significance of the Survey, but of the agritech sector as a whole and the largely unrecognised potential of this ecosystem and our members who exist within it.” Ms Martin said.
“AusAgritech is a member-led Association, and we know that this Survey will catapult our strong and thriving ecosystem forward with further opportunities for our members to connect, receive profile and understanding of our vast sector on a national level.”
